Calcium is increasingly appreciated for its critical signaling role within the cell. Advanced microscopy methods are allowing us to visualize it in real time. Cells are plated subconfluentlyand loaded with the calcium indicator dye, Fluo-4. Stimulation of calcium release by histamine causes an acute Fluo-4 response.
